Pistons fans held their heads and expectations a little higher last night after Detroit routed the Orlando Magic in a victorious 113-109 effort.

The Magic made it a ball game, with Orlando's Paolo Banchero shining in his official NBA debut, putting up 27-9-5, staking his claim as one of the youngsters to keep an eye on.

The Piston's pick up of Bojan Bogdanovic in a cost-cutting measure by Utah proved to be well worthwhile with Bogdanovic dropping 24 points during the opener.

Jalen Suggs, last year's No. 5 draft pick had 21 points before fouling out and guard Cade Cunningham ended the night with 18 points.

In their debut, first round draft picks Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren let Detroit see what they're bringing to the table.

Ivey ended his debut with 19 points while Duren picked up 14 points and 11 rebounds.

The rebuild of the Detroit Pistons definitely looks promising!
